For harsh environments—high temperatures, hydrocarbon exposure, or oil-saturated conditions—synthetic rubber damping elements are available as alternatives. The coupling generates no axial thrust; rather, it accommodates axial play between connected components. It performs optimally at elevated RPM speeds and is suitable for applications up to 622 horsepower at 100 RPM.
